My Story
The Mahina Doula was born from a deep knowing: that mothers deserve to be held, too.
When I was pregnant with my first baby, I thought I had it all figured out. I had prepared for the birth, the baby, the beautiful details. But what I hadn’t prepared for was the transformation of me.
The quiet unraveling. The identity shift. The raw, tender in-between of who I was and who I was becoming.
It was in that space that I realised how much we’re missing in modern motherhood. The village. The slowing down. The care that centres the mother, not just the baby.
And so Mahina was created, to bring that back.
My Approach
I offer support that honours motherhood as a transition, not just an event.
This is care that goes beyond checklists and routines. It’s intuitive, gentle, and deeply responsive to what you need in the moment. Whether that looks like grounding nervous system support, nurturing bodywork, a warm presence in your home, or simply someone to sit beside you as you process it all - I’m there for you.
I believe:
- You don’t need to do this alone
- There is no one “right” way to mother
- Your experience matters just as much as your baby’s
- Being supported changes everything
What Makes Mahina Different
The Mahina Doula isn’t just about support, it’s about how you are held.
I blend practical postpartum care with a more holistic, nurturing approach. This might look like bringing fresh native blooms into your space, offering herbal remedies, creating moments of calm through gentle touch, or holding space for the emotional layers of matrescence.
It’s care that feels soft, intentional, and deeply human.
For the Mother You’re Becoming
Whether you’re preparing for birth or finding your way in the postpartum period, my role is to walk beside you - not to lead, not to fix, but to support you in trusting yourself.
Because you already hold so much wisdom within you.
You just need the space to hear it.
